Sessions are 7 Days and 6 Nights in the Auvergne region of Central France.
We'll be based in a chateau in the medieval village of Crocq -- on the edge of a parc naturel régional -- in the heart of the Creusoise countryside. From there we will venture forth and view ancient tapestries in Aubusson, tour a porcelain factory in Limoges and paint porcelain keepsakes to take home, visit an international museum and take in the thermal baths in Vichy, tour a medieval palace in Bourges...all interwoven with delightful pauses for regional cuisine and leisurely browsing.
The pivotal treat will be a visit to the home and studio of French artist Claire Basler where you will have the unique opportunity to take in her studio environment as well as the natural surroundings of her property -- the inspiration for her art. You will be able to purchase her paintings and receive assistance in shipping them.
There are two sessions to choose from:
September 20th to 26th and September 27th to October 4th.
The package is $3,000 (US) and includes lodging, all breakfasts, select meals, entry fees on excursions, and local private transportation. Airfare is not included. More details to follow.
